The Bruno L. Cunha Engineering Memorial Scholarship was created by friends, faculty, and staff of the College of Engineering. It honors the memory of Bruno L. Cunha who tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident in November 2019. The Cunha Scholarship benefits international undergraduate students seeking a degree in engineering. Consider making a gift to honor Bruno and help other international students succeed at The University of Texas at Tyler.
A native of Brazil, Bruno came to this country in 2013 in search of opportunities and dreams of making his way to success and prosperity. Bruno joined the UT Tyler community in the fall of 2015 to pursue a degree in civil engineering.
In his college life as well as his personal life, Bruno Cunha epitomized a man of strong values, moral character, personal integrity, loyalty, idealism, and love. His fellow students looked to him for his smile, cheerful words, guidance, and encouragement.
Bruno lived his life as an example of life’s promise of abundance. He took advantages of opportunities and squeezed every moment out of those experiences from São Paulo, Brazil to Tyler, Texas. That is the purpose of this scholarship to give others the same chance to build experiences, and through this scholarship fund, Bruno will never be forgotten.
