SPECIAL UPDATE: We are thrilled to announce that due to the incredible and quick response to this crowdfunding request we will be able to register early for this virtual conference and take advantage of lower registration fees! This means that we have almost reached our reduced fundraising goal! This also means that the donations that have already been made are actually going to stretch further and help cover more of the costs than we anticipated! WOW and THANK YOU!
WHAT ARE THE DETAILS:
Typically, student organizations and their faculty advisors conduct fundraisers that require intimate face-to-face contact in order to help defray the cost of attending regional and national meetings. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic many face to face fundraising efforts and resources to help students attend this conference have been cut or severely limited. We are excited that the 2021 AHRD conference will now be a 3 day virtual conference allowing students to attend and participate in this incredibly rewarding event. However, we need your help to help students participate!
AHRD is the professional home of the Human Resource Development (HRD) department. Soules College of Business HRD faculty have been longstanding leaders within AHRD, including:
WHEN IS THE AHRD VIRTUAL CONFERENCE:
Academy of Human Resource Development (AHRD) Virtual Conference 2021 will be February 17-19, 2021.
WHY IS THE AHRD CONFERENCE IMPORTANT:
The conference is an opportunity for HRD PhD students to meet and interact with future colleagues. PhD students can learn about current research in the HRD field. Connections made at this conference can lead to collaboration on research projects with scholars at other institutions, strategic networking for advancement and potential job opportunities.
WHAT IS THE GOAL:
There are currently 32 students enrolled in the HRD PhD program at UT Tyler Soules College of Business. Due to the fantastic and quick donor response to this crowdfunding we are incredibly close to covering the cost for 15 students to attend the 2021 virtual conference in February. We are now able to register early which will lower individual registration fees from $335 per student to $260 per student. This reduces our fundraising goal from $5,025 to $3,900 (any funds raised over what is needed will be used towards funding the 2022 conference). Because of the amazing donor response we are very close to reaching this new goal!
